Why Tanya?

I’m running for School Committee to advocate for our families, children and youth. To be a new voice, with fresh ideas and a unique vision. To help reimagine what our schools could and should look like for our children. 

I have a deep commitment to advocate for equitable education for all students in our district and I firmly believe that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves an equal opportunity to succeed and thrive.

One of the key issues I am passionate about is ensuring that our schools reflect the diversity of our student population. It is vital that we have staff members who understand and relate to the unique experiences and challenges faced by our students. By promoting diversity among our teachers and administrators, we can create a more inclusive and supportive learning environment.

But it doesn't stop there. To truly shape the future of our students, we must be forward-thinking in our approach. We need to embrace innovative teaching methods, integrate technology effectively, and prepare our students for the ever-changing world they will enter.

I am also a strong advocate for parental engagement and community involvement. I believe that parents are invaluable partners in their child's education, and their voices should be heard and respected. As a school committee member, I will work tirelessly to facilitate meaningful communication between parents, educators, and the community at large.

Furthermore, I understand the importance of maximizing the use of our district's resources. We invest significant amounts of money into our schools, and it is crucial that those funds are allocated wisely and efficiently. I will strive to ensure transparency, accountability, and responsible financial management, so that every dollar benefits our children's education.

Lastly, I want to emphasize that being an underdog means having the tenacity, determination, and passion needed to bring about real change. I may not have the same level of experience or support as other candidates, but I have the drive and commitment to make a difference.
