Through Her Lens

Tanya J. Lobo sees the world not just as it is—but as it could be. A visionary, advocate, and unapologetic truth-teller, Tanya is driven by purpose, grounded in culture, and fueled by a deep love for her community. Her journey is one of transformation—born from resilience, shaped by intersectionality, and led by a commitment to build bridges where systems once built walls.

As an Afro-Latina leader, Tanya carries generations of wisdom and strength. Her heritage—a vibrant tapestry of Haitian, Puerto Rican, Dominican, and Italian roots—informs not only her identity but her responsibility: to speak truth to power, create spaces for healing, and ensure no voice is left unheard.

Through her lens, leadership isn’t about control—it’s about care. It’s about fighting for justice without losing your softness. It’s about holding space for others while protecting your own peace. It’s about redefining what strength looks like in a world that too often asks women of color to be unbreakable.

As the founder and Executive Director of The TRUE Collective (Transforming Resilience, Unity, and Empowerment), Tanya has built more than an organization—she’s cultivated a movement. One that uplifts youth, empowers women, restores communities, and demands equity at every level. Her work is rooted in love and legacy, powered by those who came before, and designed to light the path for those still to come.

Through her lens, we’re reminded that change is not only possible—it’s already happening. One story at a time. One voice at a time. One bridge at a time.
